Chris Hayes – Honest when Inconvenient

As many may already know, Chris Hayes, a popular MSNBC news anchor has recently had his job come under major scrutiny by Twitter Activists’ finest. This comes from a recent airing where Chris Hayes simply brought up the accusations of unwanted touching and sexual assault against Democratic Nominee, Joe Biden from a former staff member of his, Tara Reade which she claimed happened in 1993.

It is no secret that MSNBC has a left leaning bias obviously wanting the Democratic party to look good, what is more shocking though are the protests that came from this airing. Earlier this weekend, the hashtag #FireChrisHayes was trending on twitter with thousands of tweets demanding the resignation of his job for bringing this scandal between Reade and Biden up. The relatively short segment showed an unbiased Chris Hayes speaking about the importance of taking a step back and realizing that at times, it’ll be those of us we share political beliefs with and those we look up to that can be accused of these heinous accusations. I’ll admit, when first seeing the #FireChrisHayes hashtag on Twitter, I only assumed the worst. I assumed Hayes had said or done something offensive or even illegal, but when this was all I saw I was confused to say the least, but then a larger sense of fear came over me. The fact that there are those who act this way towards someone bringing to light possible sexual assault is delusional and hypocritical to say the least, especially with the way many have acted towards Republicans with similar accusations.

Keep in mind this has nothing to do if you have taken a side with Reade or Biden. This has everything to do with Biden’s supporters who did not want these allegations to come to light in the first place, many of those who have claimed they back the #MeToo movement or at least until it is no longer convenient for them. Those of which were unforgiving to Trump and Kavanaugh for their sexual assault allegations in the years prior, but can’t give Reade and her allegations the time of day. This is by no means an endorsement towards either side, but a reminder that there are those that will take “party over principle” to a whole new level.
